A Lawyer not a consumer!
A Lawyer in Bangalore fought a case for Central Excise Commission. After the case Central Excise Commission refused to pay!
The Lawyer moved Consumer Court .
The Consumer Court ruled that the Lawyer was a service provider and not a consumer. He was providing service to Excise Commission and has not purchased goods from it.
Interesting isn’t it?
The Lawyer is M.T.Vasanth Kumar,a standing counsel for the Central Govt..
He had charged a fee of Rs 20250 for the case he fought in 2007.He also had sought a compensation of Rs 50000/- from Central Excise Commission.
However the Consumer Forum pulled up the Excise Commission for not clearing the dues of the Advocate.
