It is sad for IPL!

Is it not sad that spot fixing scandal is surfacing in IPL?

Leaving  alone a Film Star 's brawl at the gate or a misbehaviour of a player the news that saddens an ardent fan of IPL is the spot fixing.

With an enormous craze for this fast paced game millions of fans hope to see a clean game first of all.

If a doubt arises that a game is being tampered with by illegal means and fixing its a big blow for the game's following.

.Don't you agree with me?

Bowling a No Ball is the methodology in Spot Fixing.

Just for info Do you know which all fall under No Ball category.?

An umpire will rule a no ball under any of the following conditions:.

[edit]Illegal action by the bowler

  • If the bowler bowls without some part of the front foot either grounded or in the air behind the popping crease
  • If the bowler bowls with the back foot not wholly inside the return crease.
  • If the bowler bowls more than one ball above the head height in a over.
  • If the bowler throws, rather than bowls, the ball
  • If the bowler changes the arm with which he bowls without notifying the umpire.
  • If the bowler changes the side of the wicket from which he bowls without notifying the umpire.
  • If the bowler bowls underarm unless this style of delivery is agreed before the match.
  • If the bowler throws the ball towards the striker's wicket before entering the "delivery stride".
  • If the ball does not touch the ground in its flight between the wickets and reaches the batsman at a height above either his waist when delivered by a fast bowler (this delivery is called a 'Beamer') or the shoulder when delivered by a slow bowler.
  • If the ball bounces more than twice, or rolls along the ground, before reaching the popping crease at the striker's end. However, the ECB has ruled that in certain competitions in England the ball is only allowed to bounce once.
  • If the ball comes to rest in front of the line of the striker's wicket.

It was Dada’s day at New Delhi !

Chennai beat Rajasthan easily.at Chennai.Rjasthan just managing 146 for 4.Chennai got to it just losing 3 wickets .

Unabashedly partisan crowd people from Jaipur felt.

But Chennai Super Kings having to go all the 20 overs  was a surprise.Couldn’t they have done it faster?

In New Delhi the story was different. The Home team got thrashed by Ganguly’s men!

Pune made a good total (192 for just 3 wicket.)Ganguly was among the runs.(41 off 35 deliveries)Ryder cracked 86.

Delhi topping the Points table in this IPLV  could only coast to  172 for 7.(Sehwag 52,Peterson 32).

Ganguly  chipped in with 2 wickets too and  took a catch too.

It was Dada’s day at New Delhi on Saturday 21 April.

Out of the 55 innings so far in IPL V ,in 22 spinners have opened the bowling!

Opening with spinners does put a brake on the rhythm of the batsmen,IPL teams believe strongly.

Sachin quits Mumbai Indians' captaincy

So IPLV is set to explode !.Media hype everywhere.Newspapers,TV,FM Radio all giving a big picture!

Apart from the usual delineation of the teams ,one News which hit the headlines was Sachin quits Mumbai Indian’s captaincy and hands it  over to Harbajan Singh.

Could Harbjan  have  made some difference to Indian Team’s performance at Australia on the recent tour?A big question !Bhajji known for his aggressiveness particularly towards the Aussies  was really missed on that tour. The Aussie batsmen were known to be  vulnerable to his spin too! .

Anyway that’s a closed chapter.

Will Harbajan maintain  the great image of  Mumbai Indians?.Thats the moot point now.

One paradox observed is calling all these teams by their State names but except Tendulkar  and Gambhir none other playing for their own state!
